The Incidents delegation of the JCF reported these sanctions during the entity's constitution plenary, held this Tuesday. The measures are based on the resolution of the incidents jury for the 2025/2026 period.
Among those sanctioned, one artist has been disqualified for three years, while other artisans have received sanctions of two and one year, respectively. These decisions were made following complaints filed by Fallas commissions.
“"Evidently, it does not comply with the project he presented."
The Fallas regulations, in article 80, establish that if a commission believes that the contract with a Fallas artist has been breached, it must file a complaint with the JCF. Subsequently, an incidents jury composed of five members is formed to evaluate the case.
The temporary sanction imposed on a Fallas artist, according to article 81 of the regulations, has declarative effects as a public sanction within the scope of Fallas construction and is unappealable. Once the Fallas year concludes, the JCF must publish the list of sanctioned artists for the commissions' awareness.
One of the sanctioned artists expressed his apologies on social media, regretting the situation and acknowledging that he failed those who trusted him. He attributed the situation to the "false lucidity of a dying workshop that could not give more of itself" and personal problems.
