The Gran Fondo Valencia has presented its XXI edition at the Diputación de Valencia, which will take place on May 2nd and will bring together more than 2,350 cyclists from 24 countries and 36 Spanish provinces.

The presentation event, held in the Patio de la Scala, was attended by Vicent Mompó, president of the Diputación, who highlighted the importance of the event beyond the sporting sphere, positioning the province on the international cycling map.
This edition reinforces its social commitment with a joint initiative with the CRIS Against Cancer Foundation, aimed at funding research into childhood cancer. The organization has put up for sale jerseys from previous editions, the proceeds of which will be used to support new treatments and research.
Participants can choose between two routes: the Gran Fondo, covering 177 kilometers with a 2,033-meter elevation gain, and the Medio Fondo, covering 148 kilometers with a 1,474-meter elevation gain. Both will start and finish at La Marina de Valencia, including passage through emblematic mountain passes such as l'Oronet, Alto Segart, Chirivilla, and Canteras, with gradients reaching up to 22%.

"The event combines sporting demands with the opportunity to enjoy a unique environment in the province."

The event is expected to generate an economic impact of nearly three million euros in the city of Valencia, boosting sectors such as hospitality, commerce, and restaurants. The Gran Fondo Valencia is one of the few European cyclotourist events that starts and finishes in a major city, thanks to the coordination of volunteers, security forces, and administrations. Additionally, the event will be complemented by the Expo-Ciclismo fair, where companies in the sector will present their latest innovations.
