The Council of Ministers has authorized the tender for a new contract, valued at almost 17 million euros, to advance the development of the railway network in the Valencian capital, within the framework of the Access Canal construction.

This contract, managed through Adif AV, includes the signaling, telecommunications, energy, and video surveillance installations for the new railway access to València Joaquín Sorolla station. These improvements are fundamental for the future technical operation scheme of the terminal.
The actions consist of adapting these control, command, and signaling installations to the different provisional phases planned in the Access Canal works, as well as to their definitive situation, as detailed by the central administration in a statement.
Specifically, the contract covers the installation of new elements associated with traffic regulation systems, also adapting the hardware and software of different interlockings located in València Nord, Joaquín Sorolla, La Font de Sant Lluís, Sant Isidre, and Alfafar to the new configuration.
Among other devices, the action includes the deployment of train protection systems (axle counters), lateral signaling with LED technology lights, connections for the distribution of signaling cables, track devices, billboards and fixed information screens, electro-hydraulic actuators, and the expansion and modification of the wiring network for security installations. This action may be co-financed by the European Union's "Connecting Europe" Facility (CEF).
