The organization of this international sports and cultural event highlighted that the number of participants already surpasses that of the previous edition, held in Hong Kong and Guadalajara (Mexico) in 2023, which registered 4,500 attendees. The goal is to reach 9,500 registered participants before registrations close.
The presentation of the games took place at the Ciutat de València stadium, where the opening ceremony will commence in two months. This ceremony will be directed by Valencian drag queen Choriza May and will feature performances by artists such as Mónica Naranjo and Soraya Arnelas.
“"The journey to get here has not been easy, but it will be exciting. It is extremely important for the city to be positioned in this way. The LGTBI community will feel that Valencia is committed to diversity."
Competitions will be held in 39 sports disciplines across 46 venues. These disciplines include Valencian pilota and colpbol, aiming to promote local sports. The city of Valencia will be the only one in Spain and the Mediterranean to host games of this nature.
The Diputación de València has collaborated with the City Council and the Generalitat to make Valencia an open and diverse territory. To this end, training sessions have been launched for volunteers, who will arrive from all over the world to work in sports facilities, cultural activities, and information and accreditation points.
“"In 2026, it is still necessary to create safe spaces where the community feels comfortable."
