The training took place at the l'Eliana fire station, where students participated in various practical simulations. These activities were designed to replicate real intervention scenarios, enhancing the preparation of future healthcare professionals.
Organized into groups, the students performed exercises that recreated traffic accidents with trapped individuals, collisions with structures, confined space rescues, and evacuations of immobilized victims on rescue stretchers. These practices are crucial for their preparation.
“"This initiative has been fundamental to prepare future healthcare professionals and foster joint work with firefighters in emergency situations."
The practical sessions were conducted thanks to a collaboration agreement between the Consortium and the University of Valencia, and were led by specialist personnel from the fire department. The main objective is to improve interprofessional coordination and response capacity for victims in critical scenarios.
The director of the Nursing department at the University of Valencia noted that the activity took place in a
“"nearly real"
environment, which facilitated practical learning and cooperation among different emergency teams. With this initiative, both institutions have strengthened the practical training of students and consolidated collaboration between healthcare and emergency professionals.
