The Filmoteca Valenciana is inaugurating a new programming line exclusively dedicated to Valencian cinema, with the goal of disseminating and promoting the cinematographic history of the Valencian Community.

Starting this April, the Filmoteca will periodically screen feature films from its Film Archive collections. Priority will be given to titles that have received public production aid from the IVC or its predecessor institutions since the 1980s.

"With this proposal dedicated to Valencian cinema, the Filmoteca Valenciana aims to contribute to the dissemination and promotion of our cinematographic history."

Luis Gosálbez · Deputy Director of Audiovisuals and Cinematography of the Institut Valencià de Cultura
The cycle will begin on April 21, at 6:00 PM, with a single screening of the film Tramontana (1991). This work, written and directed by the Alcoy-born filmmaker Carlos Pérez Ferré, was produced by Pepe Ferrandis for Antea Films and features a notable cast including Jorge Sanz, Emma Suárez, Álvaro de Luna, Francisco Algora, Enrique San Francisco, and Walter Vidarte.
The film will be presented by its producer, Pepe Ferrandis, before the screening. The General Director of the Institut Valencià de Cultura, Álvaro López-Jamar, and the Deputy Director of Audiovisuals and Cinematography of the IVC, Luis Gosálbez, are expected to attend. The film was shot in various Valencian landscapes, including the coastal fortifications of Peñíscola and Burriana.
