Valencia Basket delivered a crushing defeat to FC Barcelona (77-102) in the final regular season game, condemning the blaugrana team to fifth place and a difficult path in the 'play-off'.

The dismal performance of Barça against Valencia not only resulted in a heavy defeat but also further discouraged the Palau crowd as the playoffs approach. The outcome condemns Barça to the least favorable conditions of the two possible playoff scenarios, placing them fifth to face Murcia in the quarterfinals and Madrid in the semifinals, both with home-court disadvantage.
Valencia, still possessing energy and enthusiasm despite not achieving their EuroLeague goals, displayed a significantly superior level. Their coach, Pedro Martínez, continues his impressive work, while Xavi Pascual seems to have already conceded defeat, as have several of his players who appear indifferent to the team's struggles.
Barça's disaster began in the first quarter, with a team unable to cope against an overwhelming opponent that doubled their score (14-28). Valencia maintained their dominance until halftime (27-46). The crowd booed Barça off the court, with only a brief flicker of hope from six consecutive points by Joel Parra, who, along with Tornike Shengelia (17 points), was a top scorer.
Pascual fielded all 12 players in the first quarter, showcasing his disorientation and desperation. "We did everything wrong, very wrong," admitted the coach, who now faces the challenge of re-energizing his team in 48 hours for the decisive phase.
Upon returning from halftime, Barça lost possession, and Valencia hit their seventh three-pointer. Despite scoring 26 points in the third quarter, the deficit widened as Valencia added 29, leading to renewed boos and Pascual's visible distress.
The final statistics highlighted Valencia's dominance, with 37 rebounds (12 offensive) and 17 assists, compared to Barça's 35 rebounds (11 offensive) and 8 assists. Jean Montero led Valencia with 19 points, while Tornike Shengelia was Barça's top scorer with 17.
