The tender documents for the new contract for the management and operation of regulated parking (ORA) on public roads in València have been drafted. These documents, which are still awaiting final approval, set the guidelines for the next contract, which will last for three years, with the possibility of two annual extensions.

Among the most notable new features, the new contract foresees the implementation of a specific access control and surveillance system in the vicinity of Joaquín Sorolla station. The objective of this measure is to ensure the correct use of exclusive taxi stop areas and prevent private vehicles from violating regulations, a situation not covered in the previous contract.

In addition, control over the use of loading and unloading spaces, those designated for people with reduced mobility (PMR), and those for electric vehicles being charged will be strengthened. This was a citizen demand that had not been accommodated in the contract until now. To facilitate this control, both the Local Police of València and the new contractor will have access to a mobile application that the City Council is developing for the reservation of these spaces. This will allow for monitoring of reservation times and ensuring greater rotation.

Another important improvement is the contractor's obligation to carry out night control of regulated parking spaces, a task that was not mandatory in the current contract. Efforts will also be made to improve the processing and delivery of resident badges, the quality of data treatment and analysis through parking space sensors, and the quality of applying the action protocol in the event of pollution episodes, aspects that represent an improvement over the previous tender.
