The National Police arrested four men this Monday in València who were part of a criminal group specializing in home burglaries, thanks to the intervention of off-duty officers.

The incident occurred when an off-duty officer spotted four individuals acting suspiciously as they left a building in the maritime area of València. The officer, familiar with the methods used by such gangs, immediately alerted his colleagues while intercepting the suspects to prevent them from fleeing.
During the security search, officers found various tools used to mark doors, such as toothpicks and pieces of paper, as well as a flashlight and scarves to hide their faces. It was later confirmed that the individuals had marked several apartments on the first floor of the building.
Checks in police databases revealed that one of the detainees had outstanding judicial warrants for previous crimes. The four detainees, most of whom have criminal records, have been brought before the court, and one of them has been remanded in custody.
This operation, carried out by the Immediate Response Group against Criminality (GRIC), has led to the dismantling of a criminal group operating in the Valencian capital. Additionally, officers seized four mobile phones for which the detainees could not justify ownership.
