The allocation of MIR positions, which began on May 4, has once again shown the preference of applicants for certain specialties. A report from the SIMEG Study Center Foundation, with data from the first week, details that seven specialties have already filled all their positions.
Dermatology filled its 140 positions on the first day, and Plastic Surgery its 53 positions on the same day. Ophthalmology completed its 229 positions on the third day, while Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery did the same with its 39 positions on the fourth day.
Other specialties that also quickly filled their positions include Cardiology (207 positions), Endocrinology and Nutrition (115 positions), and Otorhinolaryngology (121 positions), all on the fourth day of allocation.

In contrast, specialties such as Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Pharmacology had not allocated any positions as of this Monday. The specialties with the highest number of allocated positions are Anesthesiology and Resuscitation (387), Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (292), and Pediatrics (286).
By autonomous communities, Madrid leads in the number of chosen positions with 772, followed by Andalusia (580), Catalonia (508), and the Valencian Community (369). At the provincial level, Madrid (772), Barcelona (451), and Valencia (251) are those that have allocated the most positions.
