Workers at a construction site on Joan Verdeguer Street in València discovered a Civil War bomb with explosive charge, which was safely detonated on Friday in the area of the future north terminal of the Port of València.

The discovery occurred on Friday morning when workers found the device, weighing over 50 kilograms and containing an active explosive charge. Immediately, units from the TEDAX group of the National Police and several patrols were mobilized to secure the area.
Given the danger of the explosive and the need to find a safe location for its detonation, permission was requested from the Port Authority of València (APV). The APV authorized the transfer of the bomb to the land where the future north container terminal is being built, as part of the Port's expansion, due to its proximity and suitable safety conditions.
The controlled detonation took place around 4:00 PM, generating an explosion and a plume of smoke visible to residents in nearby areas, such as the hamlet of Pinedo. Sources from the APV and the National Police confirmed the success of the operation.

This is a successful case of collaboration between all parties to guarantee safety in these circumstances.
