The Popular Party group at Valencia City Council has recruited Borja Espert, who until now served as an advisor in the Valencian Generalitat. His appointment is expected to be formally approved on Friday.

The current advisor in the Valencian Generalitat, Borja Espert, will join the Popular Party group at Valencia City Council. His appointment as temporary staff for the City Council is expected to be formally approved this Friday in the Local Government Board. In fact, the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana published Espert's resignation at his own request as an advisor to the regional government this Thursday.
In this way, Espert will strengthen the municipal government's team of advisors and will receive a gross annual salary of 68,532.80 euros for his duties, according to the salary scales of the municipal administration.
It should be recalled that the new municipal advisor joined the regional administration in August 2023 as an advisor to the Presidency under former president Carlos Mazón. His connection with this department ended in November 2025, at which point, by legal requirement, all temporary staff attached to his trusted team ceased.
Just a few days after this dismissal, Espert was reinstated into the Valencian Executive's structure as an advisor for general affairs in the Ministry of Social Services, headed by Elena Albalat. With his move to local politics, the technician concludes his tenure in the regional government to immediately reinforce the Popular Party's staff at the City Council.
