The BIOPARC facilities in Valencia, Fuengirola, and the Gijón Aquarium unite on International Earth Day to promote public awareness and action for planet protection.

Under the slogan “Our Power, Our Planet,” the initiative emphasizes the transformative power of individuals and the need to exercise it actively and consistently for the environment. The shared goal of the three parks is to stimulate this individual power through emotion, knowledge, and direct experience with wild nature.
In a context of increasing pressure on biodiversity, BIOPARC reinforces its role as leisure spaces with a cause, a model that places conservation, environmental education, and animal welfare at the center of the experience. More than just animal parks, they are living spaces for awareness and commitment to biodiversity, designed to awaken visitors' sensitivity and translate it into real involvement in natural environment protection.
This year's slogan precisely highlights the connection between awareness and action. Reducing plastic consumption, adopting responsible habits, or supporting conservation initiatives are concrete expressions of the power each person has to influence the planet's future. BIOPARC thus calls for collective involvement, reminding that the sum of small individual acts contributes to building a more sustainable future.
From the untamed African landscapes of BIOPARC Valencia, through the tropical jungles of BIOPARC Fuengirola, to the marine ecosystems of BIOPARC Gijón Aquarium, the three institutions share the same purpose: to protect endangered species and bring wild nature closer to the public to foster a more conscious, close, and active relationship with it.
The BIOPARC Foundation, which encompasses all the parks, promotes a comprehensive strategy aimed at both ex situ program development, through the participation of BIOPARC in nearly a hundred international endangered species conservation projects, and in situ projects, focused on protecting natural habitats and wild fauna in different territories. Its action is complemented by initiatives such as the Wild Oceans FilmFest, which uses cinema as an awareness tool.
