The Civil Guard has opened an investigation to clarify the causes of death of two octogenarians, a man and a woman, whose bodies were found in an advanced state of decomposition in their home in Peal de Becerro, in the province of Jaén. According to investigation sources, the autopsy performed has ruled out any signs of violence on the victims' bodies.

At present, all hypotheses remain open to determine the exact circumstances of these deaths. The couple, who usually resided in Barcelona, spent time in this town in Jaén, the place of origin of one of the victims.

The discovery of the two lifeless bodies occurred late yesterday afternoon. Local Police and Civil Guard officers were dispatched to the scene after being alerted by a relative of the victims.
