Bank Robbery in Benetússer: Thieves Tie Up Cleaners

Three robbers assaulted a bank branch in Benetússer early in the morning, gaining entry through a hole and tying up the cleaners who surprised them, before fleeing with an as-yet undetermined amount of loot.

The Civil Guard is searching for three robbers who assaulted a bank branch in Benetússer early in the morning. According to initial reports, the thieves accessed the bank premises before it opened its doors to the public.
The suspects, who had the assault perfectly planned, managed to flee the scene before the arrival of Civil Guard and Local Police patrols, which quickly responded to the branch, located at number 65 of Camí Nou de Benetússer.
Sources consulted by this newspaper confirm that the thieves managed to get away with part of the money from the safe in a matter of minutes after making a hole, while the bank was closed to the public.
The events occurred early this morning, when the cleaning staff entered the branch to do their work. Upon entry, they encountered the thieves in the act, who tied them up to prevent them from alerting the police. Although the hostages had to be treated for anxiety attacks, no injuries were reported.
The thieves fled shortly before agents from the Local Police and the Civil Guard arrived at the bank. According to initial data, the thieves were three men, who are now being identified. Agents from the Scientific Police of the Civil Guard from the Alfafar barracks are conducting an exhaustive ocular inspection of the branch in search of traces of the perpetrators.
For the moment, the amount of the stolen loot has not been disclosed. It is known, however, that no injuries were reported. Civil Guard agents are guarding access to the branch, observed by neighbors and curious onlookers commenting on what happened.
