Long gone are the days of performing in small venues and suburban clubs. Ten years after the release of Pai, a low-budget version of Rihanna's Work, Bad Gyal has solidified her career, culminating in the release of a new album, Más cara, which brought her to València. The album's presentation tour confirms her status as a star, with numerous 'sold out' shows and a performance at the Goya Awards gala, a symbolic achievement for the artist.
The singer's success is undeniable, as evidenced by filling the Roig Arena, the largest venue where she has performed solo in the city. The eager audience enjoyed a show that opened with Un coro y ya, full of dance and featuring a theatrical stage production that elevated her musical catalog.
The stage transformed into a luxurious mansion, a blend of a Miami mega-mansion in millennial grey, where Bad Gyal appeared dressed in yellow. Minimalism was not an option, with a stage that included a table with a female sculpture as legs and a large capacity sofa, as well as a fireplace.
The almost two-hour concert allowed for a review of her new material, with tracks like Choque, Gatitas, and Da Me, which were heavily chanted by fans, many of whom were dressed for the occasion in glitter, synthetic hair accessories, and transparencies. Some waited many hours outside to secure the best spot at the concert, which gathered around 15,000 people.
The decibels rose with songs like Zorra, Flow 2000, and Perdió este culo, which were some of the most intense moments of the night. The repertoire concluded with Fiebre, a track that has become indispensable in popular music in recent years, serving as a symbolic end to a cycle.
