Faura to Host the First Edition of «Ara Circ», a Street Circus and Arts Festival

The town of Faura, in the region of les Valls, is preparing to host the first edition of «Ara Circ», a street circus and arts festival that promises to transform the municipality in early May.

The Faura town council has unveiled the first details of this new event, which seeks to position the town as an essential stop in the circuit of large-format performing arts. The organization has emphasized the artistic quality of the selected companies, many of which have national recognition.

Under the artistic direction of the prestigious company La Troupe Malabó, the festival has put together a program that not only seeks entertainment but also technical excellence and narrative depth. Among the most notable proposals, the public will be able to enjoy productions that have been selected as candidates for the Max Awards 2026 in the Best Street Show category.
Among the titles that will be offered for free, highlights include Carena by the company La Corcoles, awarded the “Millor estrena d’Arts de Carrer” Prize at Fira Tàrrega 2024 and a candidate for the Max Awards 2026. Also featured will be Eirenê, a production by the host company La Troupe Malabó, which is also a candidate for the Max Awards 2026. Finally, Carman by Javier Ariza, recognized as Best Street Show at the Castilla y León Theater Fair - Ciudad Rodrigo 2019.
Those responsible for the selection have emphasized that «Ara Circ» is a commitment to universal languages where live music, gestural theater, and high-risk acrobatics come together to create a magical world. Confirmed groups include names such as La Corcoles, Pau Palacios, Roxi Katcheroff, or Circo Vermut, in addition to La Troupe Malabó itself.
