The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation against the mayor of València, María José Catalá, along with several municipal and Port of Valencia officials, for possible crimes of prevarication and influence peddling.

In addition to the mayor, two councilwomen from her government team—Rocío Gil and Paula Llobet—, the president of the Port Authority, Mar Chao, and several public employees are also under investigation. The case stems from a complaint filed by the municipal group Compromís.
The Compromís complaint accuses Catalá of coordinating administrative processes to reassign employees from the former Consorcio Valencia 2007 to various public bodies. This consortium, in liquidation since 2024, managed infrastructure linked to the Marina de Valencia.
According to the complaint, during that period, several selection processes were allegedly launched almost simultaneously in the City Council, municipal foundations, and the Port. The complainants argue that some of these calls might have been designed to benefit former employees of the liquidated consortium, allowing their incorporation into new public positions at the Port of València.
It is even suggested that certain positions might have been pre-assigned. A report from the State General Intervention also points to possible irregularities, detecting that these processes could violate the principles of equality, merit, and capacity in access to public employment.
