The municipality of Pina de Montalgrao, with just over a hundred inhabitants, will benefit from this new tourist resource designed to attract visitors and foster local development. The president of the Diputación, Marta Barrachina, recently visited the construction site to check its progress.
The main objective of this initiative is to expand the offer of quality accommodation in the municipality, thereby promoting tourism and economic revitalization. "We have promoted this project so that a municipality of just over 100 inhabitants can add quality accommodation to its offerings, which will allow us to host visitors and boost activity, both tourist and economic," stated the president.
The new rural house, being built through an agreement between the Diputación and the Ayuntamiento de Pina de Montalgrao, will have three floors. The layout includes an entrance, living-dining room with an integrated kitchen, a toilet, and stairs on the ground floor; two double bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor; and two additional double bedrooms, another bathroom, and a laundry room on the second floor.
Marta Barrachina highlighted the importance of these grants for smaller municipalities, emphasizing that "it is essential to have this aid to add tourist resources, in this case a rural house, and thus have a new space for tourists to continue arriving in the town and be able to stay there".
This action is part of the provincial strategy to promote tourism as an economic and social driver for the towns of Castellón. Along these lines, the Diputación has also increased grants for the hiring of tourist information officers, growing from 31 beneficiary municipalities in 2023 to 93 in 2025, with a total investment of 760,000 euros.
