The Director General of Employment and Training of Labora attended the governing council of the Pact for Employment and Local Development of Alto Palancia, held at the headquarters of the Mancomunidad in Soneja.

During the session, the Labora representative gained a close understanding of the socioeconomic promotion work carried out by the Pact. This initiative focuses on professionalizing the tourism sector and improving employability for the years 2025 and 2026, always from a transversal sustainability perspective.
Special emphasis was placed on the Alto Palancia Retos project, a strategy funded by Labora that integrates 29 municipalities, business organizations, and trade unions. The objective is to foster a sustainable rural region that generates opportunities for its inhabitants.
Key pillars of this project include the socioeconomic observatory, the regional employment portal, the promotion of sustainable entrepreneurship, and the creation of a supramunicipal cooperation network. The Alto Palancia Emplea portal has successfully connected over 400 companies with 1,800 job seekers, also offering personalized support in selection processes for the hospitality and tourism sectors.
In the area of sectoral development, a strategy to boost a tourism cluster based on the excellence of local products and the Alto Palancia brand was presented. Furthermore, information was provided on the Palancia circular initiative, which promotes sustainability and the circular economy as transversal axes of regional economic activity. Social commitment is reinforced through the Tejiendo Redes project, designed to combat depopulation by strengthening community associations and collective action.
The governing council also discussed the mobility situation in the region, which affects the labor market, educational training centers, and the provision of public services. Deficiencies in rail and bus connections limit the link between Alto Palancia and Camp de Morvedre, impacting labor and educational flows, especially in the Vocational Training institutes of both regions. The need for more efficient public transport is also evident in other essential services, such as healthcare.
