The machinery to organize the Alcoy Christmas is already in motion, sharing festive prominence with the Moors and Christians celebrations. One of the first actions by Alcoy City Council has been the tender for the supply, placement, assembly, and disassembly of 40 wooden stalls. These stalls are intended for businesses participating in the Christmas Market, located in La Glorieta park.
This market, which has already completed ten editions, is part of the prominent program of Alcoy City of Christmas and takes place around the December 6th and 8th long weekend. The base tender budget is 19,360 euros annually, including VAT, with the possibility of extension for three additional years. This brings the total contract value to 64,000 euros excluding taxes.
The first year of the contract will run from November 15, 2026, to March 31, 2027, and until March 31 of each extension year (2028, 2029, and 2030). The tender has been opened because the previous contract ends this year, and interested parties can submit their offers until May 5 at 12:00 PM.
“"The Christmas Market aims to promote local commerce during the Christmas campaign, encouraging purchases in the municipality during a particularly relevant period for the city's commercial fabric."
In addition to its commercial function, the Christmas Market offers recreational, cultural, and social activities both within La Glorieta park and its surroundings. This initiative actively collaborates with Alcoy's commercial associations, consolidating itself as a benchmark event in the city's annual commercial calendar.
