The tender has a base budget of 738,404 euros, including VAT, and an execution period of twelve months from the signing of the staking-out act. Interested companies can submit their offers until June 1.
This action will be financed with municipal funds and from the Diputación de Alicante, through the Plan Planifica, which will contribute 272,707 euros. The Castalla City Council will cover the rest, with a contribution of 465,697 euros.
In 2019, the Generalitat Valenciana granted the city council the use of the writer's family home, located on Carrer Major in Castalla, to convert it into a literary museum. The initial concession is for a period of 10 years, extendable up to a maximum of 30 years. After a first rehabilitation project failed, a new one was commissioned and will now be executed by the team Arquitectura y Urbanismo Estudio Boix SLP, led by architect Juan María Boix García. The rehabilitation aims to improve existing spaces and their accessibility.
In addition to the building's rehabilitation, the next step will be to provide it with content, with a stable program aimed at both schoolchildren and the general public, where the writer Enric Valor and his work will be the central theme. The project, publicly presented last year during the Fira de la Fantasia, will include spaces for cultural use, workshops, training, and exhibitions on different floors, as well as a museum area that will preserve the essence of the original home. Audiovisual media and recovered objects from the house and the writer's life will be used.
