The closure of fixed ATMs in inland towns of the Valencian Community, such as Les Useres, complicates daily banking transactions for residents, who now rely on limited mobile services.

Since April 1st, several localities in the province of Castellón, including Vistabella, Catí, Costur, Els Ivarsos, and Les Useres, have been left without a fixed ATM. This situation has generated discontent among residents, who see an essential service drastically reduced.
Instead of permanent ATMs, these municipalities now have mobile banking offices operating from a truck, but only a few days a month. This temporary solution complicates basic actions such as withdrawing money or performing banking transactions, affecting the quality of life of residents.

They want people to stay in the town because it is depopulated, but no one does anything.

The town council of Les Useres, which previously had an ATM available every day of the year and now only four days a week, seeks to recover the fixed bank office. The mayor, Jaime Martínez, stated in declarations to À Punt that he has conveyed this concern to the Diputación de Castellón.

"They should make a law that would give us peace of mind forever."

According to Martínez, the final decision depends on a state law, and the provincial body "is clear about it". The need for legislation that guarantees the permanence of these services in rural areas is a growing demand.
