This event, part of the Maig Ceràmic program, will take place this Friday at 8:00 PM in the Plaça de la Sang. The gathering will bring together artists, institutional representatives, sector professionals, and the general public to recognize the winners of the 43rd edition of the competition.
The competition has seen remarkable international participation, with a total of 321 ceramists (200 international and 121 national) submitting 472 works. This high turnout reinforces the prestige and international projection of CICA in the global art scene.
“"The l'Alcora City Council has encouraged citizens and enthusiasts of ceramics and contemporary art to attend an event that once again positions the municipality as an international benchmark for ceramic creation."
The first prize, sponsored by the l'Alcora City Council and endowed with 7,000 euros, has been awarded to artist Zehan Du for his work Hollowed-out divinity. The second prize, with 5,000 euros and sponsored by the Diputación de Castellón, went to Mariya Alipieva Lazarova for Body poetry. Finally, the third prize, worth 3,000 euros, was awarded to Almudena Lobera for Las trayectorias que una catástrofe dibuja en secreto.
In addition to the main prizes, the jury granted two honorable mentions to Marta Armada for Equilibrium I and to Xiao Daixian for Inner Aureole. Following the gala, the Museu de Ceràmica will inaugurate the exhibition of the CICA 2026 finalist works, featuring 42 selected pieces. The exhibition will remain open to the public until September 6.
