This action focuses on repairing the south sidewalk of this road, with the aim of resolving its deterioration and enhancing accessibility and safety for pedestrians. The works seek to adapt this route to current accessibility regulations, ensuring a safer, continuous, and more accessible path, especially for the elderly, people with reduced mobility, and families with strollers.
The intervention includes the demolition of the existing pavement, the execution of a new base, and the installation of new adapted pavement and curb. Additionally, it also contemplates the relocation of storm drains to improve drainage in the area. According to the council, this action will completely renovate this section of the street and adapt it to the conditions required for public spaces to facilitate the daily transit of residents.
The works will also address some of the problems detected in this environment, including deterioration caused by tree roots, which have affected the condition of the sidewalk and its functionality. The estimated execution period is one month, and the investment is around 30,000 euros, an amount with which the City Council aims to significantly improve the daily use of this road.
“"This action is not an isolated event, but rather part of the deployment of the 'l'Alcora Creix' plan, recently presented to continue transforming the municipality with useful and planned interventions."
The government team highlights that this work demonstrates that the plan is already beginning to translate into real actions on the ground. In this regard, they point out that it is an intervention that responds to specific daily needs and reinforces a way of working based on proximity, planning, and execution. With this first action, the council takes the first step of the plan with a concrete improvement in the urban space, while combining larger-scale projects with interventions that directly impact the quality of life of citizens.
