This event is also part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts and will serve to recognize the academic, teaching, and human trajectory of Catalan Philology studies at the UA.
The institutional welcome will begin at 7 PM and will feature interventions from the Vice-Rector for Permanent Education and Languages, the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, and the Director of the Department of Catalan Philology. They will discuss the contribution of these studies to the cultural, academic, and social development of the University of Alicante over the past four decades.
Following this, at 7:20 PM, a round table titled “The Faculty of Philosophy and Arts and Catalan Philology studies in Alicante: a shared journey” will take place, with the participation of professors from the UA's Department of Catalan Philology. During the session, they will review the evolution of the studies, the beginnings of the degree, the main academic challenges, and the connection of Catalan philology with the territory and Valencian society.
The commemorative day will continue with a fellowship snack and musical performances by the Banda FiloCats UA and the group Abril, who will present their show “Todo el año Tour”. The event will conclude with an institutional closing marked by the reunion of different generations of students, faculty, and university community members linked to the history of Catalan Philology at the University of Alicante.
