SEMAF has stated that they consider it an «injustice» that the minimum services are «so high, they are maximums rather than minimums». For its part, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has not yet provided an official balance on the follow-up of this strike day, which affects both the Metrovalencia and TRAM de Alicante services.
The days set for the strike are April 16, 21, 23, 28, and 30 on all lines in Valencia and Alicante. The strike hours are from 07:00 to 10:00, 13:00 to 16:00, and 19:00 to 21:00.
“"We consider it an injustice that the minimum services are so high, they are maximums rather than minimums."
These stoppages extend those carried out by the union in March, due to the drivers' discontent over the «company's inaction» regarding operational safety proposals and the blocking of professional improvements in the negotiation of the XIV Collective Bargaining Agreement.
SEMAF reminds that the strike call responds to 30 demands presented to FGV in two conflict resolution commissions. Of these, ten relate to technical operational safety and twenty to the collective agreement. Demands include professional recognition for drivers, organizational justice, staff retention in critical safety roles, the implementation of a fair culture, and the regulation of temporary employment pool systems.
