Alicante is preparing for its most important festival, the Hogueras, with traffic closures starting this Friday, June 5th, affecting the city center and 16 bus lines on Saturday.

As June arrives, Alicante gears up for its most emblematic festival, the Hogueras. As usual, these festive days bring significant traffic closures in various city streets, starting this Friday.
This Friday, June 5th, the tribute to the deceased Foguerer and Barraquer will take place in Plaza de España at 7:00 PM. Subsequently, starting at 7:30 PM, the Pregón de Hogueras parade will be held, concluding at 9:00 PM in the plaza del Ayuntamiento. During these events, temporary traffic closures will occur in key areas such as Plaza de España, Calderón de la Barca, the intersection of Av. Alfonso X El Sabio, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, Rafael Altamira, and the plaza del Ayuntamiento.
Additionally, the right lane on Av. Alcoy (from General Prim street to Plaza de España) will be occupied from 5:00 PM, and on San Fernando street (from Rambla de Méndez Núñez to María Josefa Ágreda y Muñoz street) from 7:00 PM to 11:59 PM. The bus lane on Av. Juan Bautista Lafora will also be affected from approximately 11:00 PM.
On Saturday, June 6th, the Ninot parade, starting at 6:30 PM, will also involve traffic closures. Av. Alfonso X El Sabio, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, Rafael Altamira street, and the plaza del Ayuntamiento will have access restrictions from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Plaza de los Luceros will experience closures from 4:00 PM.
