More than 20 shooters have participated in Mutxamel's annual training course to prepare for the arquebus acts of the Moors and Christians festivities, complying with regulations in force since 2017.

The training, held at the municipality's Casal de la Tercera Edad, brought together over 35 participants who attended the speakers for five hours, as required by law. This course is essential to ensure the safety and proper development of the festive acts.
The course content includes detailed explanations of the different elements used in arquebus acts, essential safety measures for each act, and the infraction regime. Mutxamel was the first municipality to fully adopt the new regulations that came into force in 2017, and has since held this course every year.

"We continue to prepare for our festivities, and this course is another proof of that."

the president of the Moors and Christians Festival Commission of Mutxamel
The festival commission has highlighted the bureaucracy required to carry out acts such as the skirmishes, which involves starting to prepare documentation almost at the beginning of the year, despite the festivities being held in September. Furthermore, they point out that, despite improvements in the law, Mutxamel's situation with two arquebus acts requires a distribution in the middle of the festivities, reducing participation in the second act.
The organization hopes that the regulations will continue to improve, especially in documentation management, and that all involved entities will work to maintain an act they consider central to most Moors and Christians celebrations. They express gratitude for the work of their commission, the efforts of the course speakers, and the collaboration of the Mutxamel City Council, the Department of Festivities, the Associació Prend-li foc a la metxa, Hermanos Caballer Pirotécnicos, and the Local Police of El Campello.
