The National Police arrested a 43-year-old man this weekend in Alicante, wanted for stabbing his ex-partner's parents with a machete on April 4 in Malaga.

The investigated individual had six pending judicial and police warrants, mostly for breaching restraining orders in gender violence cases. One of these orders mandated his imprisonment for an assault offense, at the request of the Provincial Court of Malaga, section 8.
The events occurred on April 4, when the man threatened his ex-partner with death over the phone. Afterwards, he went to her parents' home in Malaga, where he expected to find her. He broke into the residence by kicking down the door and with his face covered, attacking the young woman's parents, who intervened to protect their daughter.
The aggressor caused a severe cut to the ex-father-in-law's arm and other minor stab wounds to the ex-mother-in-law. During the struggle, the victims were able to identify the attacker, who then fled the scene.
Following gender violence protocols and the aggressor's violent history, the National Police established a fixed patrol near the family home until the suspect was located and arrested. Agents from the Family and Women's Assistance Unit (UFAM) obtained information placing the aggressor in Alicante, requesting collaboration from their counterparts in that city. The arrest finally took place last Saturday.
