The Las Cigarreras Cultural Center in Alicante is hosting the VII Poetry Slam Alicante Tournament, a contemporary poetry event where the audience acts as the jury, aiming to promote poetic creation and dissemination in a scenic format and encourage citizen participation.

The competition features participants reciting their own texts within three minutes and without using any props. The performance relies solely on the poet's voice and body, while attendees are responsible for evaluating the interventions.
The tournament will unfold in a format of five preliminary sessions and a final. The sessions will be held on Thursdays, April 30, May 7, 14, 21, and 28, all at 8:00 PM in the Caja Negra. The final will take place on June 26, also at 8:00 PM, in the Casa de la Música within the same cultural venue.
Each session will last approximately one and a half to two hours and will include musical entertainment. Up to seven poets will participate in the first round, after which the audience will cast their votes. After a break, during which a surprise guest may perform, the three finalists of the day will compete. A second vote will decide the winner of each session, who will secure their pass to the final.
