The upcoming 2026-27 Symphonic Season at ADDA in Alicante, under the artistic direction of Josep Vicent, is presented as a transcendent experience themed Nature, Life, and Love. The program conceives each concert as a chapter of a unified narrative, an emotional journey combining classic repertoire pieces, new contemporary creations, and the participation of some of the world's leading orchestras and soloists.
Inspired by Dvořák's trilogy, the season takes nature as the origin of creation, life as a symbol of constant transformation, and love as the universal bond that permeates all human experience. These three ideas serve as the guiding thread, aiming to connect with both seasoned symphony music enthusiasts and newcomers.
ADDA reinforces its commitment to contemporary music through premieres and commissions from composers such as Fazıl Say and Albert Guinovart, solidifying Alicante as a European hub for musical creation. Alongside new scores, the season features iconic works by composers like Wagner, Mahler, Strauss, Beethoven, Berlioz, Shostakovich, Rachmaninov, Stravinsky, and Prokófiev, performed with fresh interpretive perspectives.
The season's international dimension is enhanced by the presence of ensembles such as the Czech Philharmonic, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, the Orquesta Nacional de España, the Berner Symphonieorchester, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Hungary, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, the Musikkollegium Winterthur, and the WDR Funkhausorchester, who will share the stage with ADDA·SIMFÒNICA Alicante. They are joined by prestigious soloists including Ton Koopman, Semyon Bychkov, Adam Fischer, Josep Pons, Wayne Marshall, Patrick Messina, Sol Gabetta, Pablo Ferrández, Mao Fujita, Martín García García, Elisabeth Teige, Joseph Alessi, Rosa Torres Pardo, and Kristine Balanas.
ADDA·SIMFÒNICA Alicante, under the direction of Josep Vicent, continues to define its artistic identity with a program alternating classics, premieres, and international collaborations. The season will culminate with the performance of Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the Orfeón Donostiarra, and Prokófiev's monumental Ivan the Terrible, featuring Pedro Piqueras as narrator, in an immersive stage production.
