The Alicante Science Park is organizing an Innotransfer 2026 conference on May 6, focusing on sustainable and energy-efficient water treatment, bringing together the innovative ecosystem at the Water Intelligence Center.

This multisectoral initiative, promoted by the Valencian Network of Science Parks, aims to drive innovation in key economic sectors for the Valencian Community. The program, supported by the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana, fosters dialogue between researchers and companies to strengthen scientific, technological, and business interconnections.
The conference will focus on the challenge posed by Aguas de Alicante: transforming wastewater treatment infrastructures. The goal is to shift from energy-intensive models to systems that reduce their carbon footprint and even generate net energy.
The event will begin with an institutional welcome from representatives of the University of Alicante, Aguas Municipalizadas de Alicante, E.M., the General Directorate of Innovation of the Generalitat Valenciana, and the Alicante City Council. Afterwards, an innovation director from Aguas de Alicante will present the challenge of transforming treatment plants, accompanied by a representative from the Public Entity for Wastewater Sanitation of the Valencian Community (Epsar).
The meeting will continue with a block dedicated to technological offerings and solution proposals within the ecosystem of the Valencian Network of Science Parks. A professor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Alicante and researchers from the University Institute of Water and Environmental Sciences will participate, along with representatives from PCA companies.
The conference will conclude with a networking session and bilateral B2B meetings, aiming to foster collaboration and the development of joint projects. This event is configured as a key space to connect scientific and technological capabilities with the real needs of the water sector, promoting innovative solutions that contribute to sustainability and energy transition in the Valencian Community.

"From the Alicante Science Park, we continue to commit to generating spaces for real connection between companies and researchers that allow transforming challenges into innovation opportunities with impact on the territory."
