The detainee was in police custody as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force, for which he had provided false identification to the officers. After carrying out the corresponding checks, the officers managed to confirm his true identity, verifying the existence of the arrest warrant.
The acts for which he was wanted were committed in June 2025 in the German municipality of Heidelberg. There, he allegedly entered a home with the intention of stealing money and valuables, but failed to complete the robbery after being surprised by the residents and having to flee.
Likewise, he is accused of another crime consisting of the theft of a bag, for which he allegedly intimidated the victim using a can of pepper spray. The fugitive had fled German justice after being sentenced to ten years of deprivation of liberty for each of the crimes he is accused of, including attempted aggravated robbery with home invasion and robbery with a prohibited weapon and threats.
After the police proceedings, the detainee has been placed at the disposal of the Central Investigating Court of the National High Court, the body responsible for carrying out the procedures for his subsequent extradition to Germany.
