The Elche CF fanbase offered a more subdued welcome than anticipated to their team before the First Division derby, influenced by the match schedule and a stricter police presence.

On matchday 31 of the First Division, Elche CF faced a crucial derby, finding themselves in relegation positions. Despite the need for support, the fan reception was notably less numerous than on previous occasions, with only a few hundred supporters gathered to cheer on the Elche team.
Unlike the previous home match against Mallorca, where the team bus began its journey towards the south side of Martínez Valero Avenue, this time the route started at the Rotonda de la Afición. Fans primarily gathered on the street named after the stadium, near gate zero, observing the arrival from behind a fence.
The increase in security measures by the police forces was a decisive factor. Following incidents in the last home match, which resulted in a 10,000 euro fine for the team, the police tightened regulations and increased the distance between supporters and the team vehicle. This precaution prevented any notable incidents during the reception.
Before kick-off, and following the club's statement, an ovation was given to the players as they returned to the changing rooms after warming up. Subsequently, the stadium paid tribute to the female players from the youth academy. Elena Martínez, Spain U-14 champion with the Valencian national team, stepped onto the pitch alongside the youth team, league champions, receiving a huge round of applause from the public.
