Alicante Mayor Receives Chief of Air and Space Staff

The Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, received the Chief of Staff of the Air and Space Force (JEMA), General Francisco Braco, this Saturday in an official visit to the City Hall.

General Braco is in Alicante for the meeting of the Superior Council of the Air and Space Force, held at the Aitana base in Alcoy. The mayor expressed his pride in hosting the military leadership in the city, also highlighting his personal and family ties to the institution.
General Braco, in turn, emphasized the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between both institutions, agreeing on their shared mission to serve society. During the meeting, Mayor Barcala presented the JEMA with a plaque featuring the Teselas of the Explanada, and the general gifted the mayor a replica of De la Cierva's autogyro.
A total of 17 generals, members of the Superior Council of the Air and Space Force, attended the visit. Also present were the Institutional Representative of the Air Force in the province of Alicante, Colonel José Ignacio Sánchez-Heredero, the head of EVA n.º 5, Commander Ignacio González, and the councilors for Presidency and Security, Antonio Peral and Julio Calero.
