The suspension of the Spanish tour, which also included performances in Zaragoza, Barcelona, and Madrid, affects a total of five concerts. Dudamel was scheduled to perform on July 6th at the Zaragoza Auditorium, on July 7th at the Auditori de Barcelona as part of the BCN Clàssics series, and on July 8th at the National Auditorium in Madrid, organized by Ibermúsica.
In a statement released by the organizers, the Venezuelan conductor expressed his deep disappointment at having to postpone the tour. Dudamel emphasized that his priority at this time is to stand with the Venezuelan people following the earthquakes that occurred earlier this week.
The maestro has expressed his desire to resume the Spanish tour as soon as the situation improves, thanking the support received and asking for understanding and solidarity during this difficult time.
“"At this moment, our responsibility is with the Venezuelan people following the earthquakes that occurred earlier this week."
The Palau de la Música in Valencia has conveyed its support to the Venezuelan population affected by the seismic event, joining the message from the conductor and the Venezuela National Youth Symphony Orchestra. Ibermúsica has also expressed its support for the decision.
Both Ibermúsica and the Palau de la Música will work to reschedule the musical encounter as soon as circumstances permit, and will communicate the new calendar through official channels.
Regarding tickets already purchased, the amount will be refunded to the same card used for payment, without any additional action required from the public.
