The province of Alicante recorded an average tourist occupancy of 71.0% during March, surpassing last year's figures by two-tenths, with a significant boost during Easter Week, reaching 90.3%.

Alicante's tourism sector has shown positive year-on-year growth, albeit slightly below February's figures. These statistics confirm the sector's strength, particularly during the festive period of Easter Week 2026, celebrated between April 2 and April 5.
Occupancy rates varied significantly by destination. The city of Alicante achieved 76.4%, while Playa de San Juan was almost full at 89.9%. Other notable locations included Santa Pola, with 85.0%, and Algorfa, with 65.4%.
However, other tourist municipalities reported more moderate figures. Dénia registered 59.3%, Jávea 57.6%, Guardamar del Segura 54.0%, Vall de Laguar 51.3%, and El Campello 50.8%. Below these levels were Sant Vicent del Raspeig (40.8%), Moraira (34.0%), and Altea (13.1%).
International tourism was predominant, accounting for 72.5% of all travelers, compared to 27.5% from the national market. Visitors from the United Kingdom were the most numerous (26.0%), followed by Germany (8.9%), Ireland (7.6%), the Netherlands (6.5%), Sweden (5.6%), and Poland (4.6%).
Within the national market, tourists from the Community of Madrid led the list with 28.0%, closely followed by those from the Comunitat Valenciana (27.2%). Travelers from Catalonia (9.4%), Andalusia (6.3%), Castilla-La Mancha (5.4%), and the Region of Murcia (4.3%) also had a significant presence.
Forecasts for April are optimistic, with an estimated occupancy of 83.4%, a figure that would improve on the previous year and strengthen expectations for the start of the high season. Easter Week was crucial, with Alicante city and Playa de San Juan reaching 95.6% and 97.7% respectively, thanks to good weather and last-minute bookings.
