The deadline for submitting nominations for these recognitions is May 5. Bernabé Cano, the deputy responsible for the area, emphasized the importance of these awards not only for valuing sports results but also for the principles that accompany sports practice.
“"From the institution, we want to foster and reward values such as effort, the spirit of self-improvement, competitiveness, teamwork, respect for rivals, and resilience."
The awards with economic endowment distinguish several categories, including best male athlete, best female athlete, best sports club, best athlete with functional diversity, best sports coach in the province, and the Antonio Cutillas Promises Award.
In addition to the financial recognitions, the call also includes a special mention without economic endowment, but with a commemorative plaque, aimed at coaches, directors, and other individuals linked to sports. This distinction will be proposed by the Alicante Sports Press Association.
Among all the submitted nominations, except for those corresponding to best club and best coach, a trophy will be awarded by popular vote to the athlete who receives the most support through a dedicated web platform. The Provincial Council frames this new edition as an opportunity to continue highlighting the role of sports in the province and to recognize careers marked by perseverance and dedication. The awards will be presented during the Provincial Sports Gala once the jury has delivered its verdict.
