The city of Alicante is gearing up for the erection of the 2026 Hogueras monuments, a process that will culminate in the selection of the best children's and adult creations.

The Hogueras de Sant Joan festival in Alicante is entering one of its most anticipated phases: the monument erection, known as 'la plantà'. In a short time, the streets will be filled with 'ninots', 'remates', and color to complete the works competing for the 2026 awards. The Official Hoguera, located in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, has already begun to take shape, marking the start of the assembly for residents and visitors.
The 'plantà' represents the moment when months of work leave the workshop to become a living scene in the street, involving a complex assembly process with cranes and monumental pieces.
The official dates for the erection of the children's hogueras are the night of Friday, June 19th, to Saturday, June 20th. For the adult hogueras, the erection will take place from the night of Saturday, June 20th, to Sunday, June 21st, known as the 'Nit de la Plantà'. Hogueras in the Especial and Primera categories began their work earlier, from midnight on June 16th to 17th, due to their complexity and size.
The jury responsible for selecting the winning children's hoguera will visit the monuments on Saturday, June 20th, with the awards announced that same afternoon. The best adult hogueras will be revealed on Sunday, June 21st, after the jury's evaluation.
The Official Hoguera, titled “Singulares” and designed by Pedro Espadero, will reach 18.5 meters in height and is expected to be completed by the morning of June 20th. Espadero is erecting his eleventh consecutive Official Hoguera this year.
