The Government Board of Alicante City Council approved this Tuesday the call for aid aimed at renting habitual housing for young people. The initiative, promoted by the Youth Department, increases the budget from 120,000 euros in the previous year to 248,000 euros for 2026.
This increase will allow beneficiaries to receive up to 400 euros per month, compared to the 250 euros offered previously. The main objective of this aid is to support the youth population, aged between 18 and 35, to promote their emancipation and access to decent housing in the municipality of Alicante.
“"The municipal government has made a determined commitment to facilitate young people's access to housing through various initiatives such as these aids, and through investment in new promotions."
To access this aid, applicants must present a housing lease agreement with a minimum duration of one year and a rent that does not exceed 1,000 euros per month. In addition, the annual income in 2025 cannot exceed 29,000 euros. Applications for room rentals or subleases will not be accepted.
The maximum amount of aid can reach 400 euros per month for a maximum of 12 months in 2026, which means up to 4,800 euros per beneficiary until the available credit is exhausted. The deadline for submitting applications will be 30 calendar days from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP), through the municipal electronic headquarters.
