The Alicante City Council, through its Department of Social Welfare, has opened a grant call totaling 340,000 euros for private non-profit organizations that promote social projects in the city.

This initiative aims to support the work of organizations that complement municipal services in responding to social needs and problems affecting individuals and groups in situations or at risk of social exclusion, as reported by municipal sources in a statement.

"The fundamental and decisive work carried out by these entities is key. With these grants, the city council supports their projects, which complement municipal work and provide service and support to groups at risk of social exclusion."

The grants will be allocated to entities with social action programs that develop projects across six defined lines of action. These include initiatives aimed at people with functional diversity and dependents, addressing situations of vulnerability and social exclusion, employment insertion support programs, and assistance for homeless individuals.
Additionally, projects for companionship and volunteering for the elderly, family and minor orientation and mediation, and socio-community integration for people with addictive disorders and their families are covered. The maximum grant per project will be 10,000 euros, covering up to 80% of the total program cost.
To be eligible for these aids, non-profit entities must have been established for at least two years and registered in the Municipal Register of Entities of the Alicante City Council one year prior to the call for grants. Applications can be submitted within 15 days from the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP), through the municipal electronic office.
