The Philharmonic Orchestra of the University of Alicante (OFUA) is finalizing preparations for its Spring Concerts, which will include two performances in Elda and Alicante featuring a prominent symphonic program.

The OFUA will give its first performance on Friday, May 8, at 8 PM, at the Teatro Castelar in Elda. This event is held in collaboration with the Elda City Council, the university campus, and the “Santa Cecilia” Musical Society of the town, with free admission for all attendees.
The second engagement will be on Saturday, May 9, also at 8 PM, at the UA Paraninfo. This concert is supported by the Rotary Club Alicante and the annual sponsorship of Vectalia. Tickets are priced at 12 euros, and a 'Fila 0' has been activated for those wishing to contribute. Proceeds from this performance will go towards funding training support for OFUA musicians.

"We wanted to propose an ambitious and contrasting program. Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8 takes us to an intimate and expressive climate, where each motif carries great emotional weight. For its part, Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 brings light, energy, and a more open and vital character. Together, these works allow young musicians to show sensitivity and enthusiasm in a fundamental repertoire of romantic symphonism."

Alejandro Muñoz · guest conductor
The guest conductor for these Spring Concerts is Alejandro Muñoz, who is currently the principal conductor of the Camerata Gala and the Coro de Ópera de Córdoba. The program will include two symphonies: F. Schubert's Symphony No. 8 in B minor D 759 Unfinished and A. Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 in G major Op. 88. Concertmaster Antonio García Egea, a renowned violinist with a distinguished international career, will also participate.
