The Alicante Institute of Culture Juan Gil-Albert is finalizing preparations for the celebration of Book Day next Thursday, April 23, with a public reading of Don Quixote and the presentation of an award-winning work.

The commemoration will include the presentation of Idear lo insólito, by Mario Pérez Antolín, the winning work of the I Aphoristic and Self-Writing Award. This book will become the first publication in what is expected to be a solid collection, comprising the winning works of the competition dedicated to Juan Gil-Albert.
The cover of this first edition has been designed by Mario-Paul Martínez, deputy director of Canelobre magazine. The presentation will take place on Thursday afternoon at Casa Bardin, with the presence of the director of the IAC and the deputy director of the Publications and Research department.

"It is a work of fragmentary and frontier writing with which I intend to combine depth of thought with stylistic brilliance. Simple formal games, if they do not have a significant reflective or emotional charge, do not interest me. Occurrences are fine for passing the time, but not for writing a book."

Furthermore, for the third consecutive year, the Deputy of Culture, Juan de Dios Navarro, will resume the reading of Don Quixote where he left off last year. His intervention will be at 10 AM in the hall of Casa Bardin, and will feature the participation of other representatives from city institutions and entities, members of the Juan Gil-Albert Institute team, and all those who wish to join this activity.
