Migrants interested in regularizing their status are using the hours before in-person services open to gather information and necessary documentation. Starting Monday, they can complete procedures at Correos, Social Security, and immigration offices, among other designated points in Alicante and Valencia.
The process has begun with considerable demand: in the first 24 hours, 13,500 online applications were registered, and 19,633 appointments for in-person attention were confirmed, according to the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration.
Meanwhile, various social entities and NGOs continue to work to guide applicants. One of the main concerns is how to obtain the vulnerability certificate, an essential document for many cases. These organizations manage lists with hundreds of people to process certificates in coordination with the Ministry.
“"We are looking for ways to get the paperwork and we are waiting."
In Gandia, the Ca Saforaui association has seen a significant increase in activity due to the rise in inquiries. A representative from the association has urged the public not to overwhelm administrations if they are unsure of the requirements, and to seek information from associations.
“"On social media, there is a lot of false information, and people get caught in a loop with no way out."
In addition to administrative advice, these entities offer comprehensive support, including psychological assistance. A representative highlighted that many people, despite working and contributing, do not feel fully integrated, while a volunteer psychologist explained that they offer support to the vulnerable collective from an intercultural framework.
The regularization process aims to grant residency and work permits to hundreds of thousands of people already residing in Spain, in a context where social support and accompaniment are crucial for successfully completing the procedures.
