The Civil Guard is investigating the death of a forty-eight-year-old woman in Callosa de Segura (Baix Segura) as a possible misogynistic crime. Officers have arrested the victim's partner, also forty-eight years old, as the alleged perpetrator. According to investigation sources, the woman was reportedly strangled this morning at the home they shared.

Initial information indicates that there were no prior domestic violence complaints between the victim and the detainee. They also had no children together and did not live with minors.

The Spanish government's delegation against gender violence reported via social media that it is gathering data on this potential misogynistic murder.
