The Alicante City Council and MIA Vectalia will enable a special bus shuttle between Plaza Puerta del Mar and Caserío for Santa Faz, with five-minute frequencies on Thursday and twenty-minute frequencies on the weekend.

This special service will operate on Santa Faz Thursday between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM, and will continue on Saturday and Sunday with a 20-minute frequency. In addition, lines 02, 08, 11, and 22 will be reinforced with frequencies of approximately fifteen minutes to facilitate travel between the Beaches and various city neighborhoods, from El Pla to La Florida. A taxi stand for ten vehicles will also be set up at Postiguet, near the pedestrian walkway.
The Mobility Councilor, Carlos de Juan, explained that a total of 20 high-capacity units will provide the shuttle service to facilitate the transfer of pilgrims between the head station located at Puerta del Mar and Caserío. To speed up the journey, a special counter-flow lane will be enabled on Dénia Avenue up to the Sant Joan intersection, covering a total distance of 6.3 kilometers.
The occupation of Dénia Avenue towards Alicante will significantly modify the itineraries of lines 02, 09, 11, Castillo Santa Bárbara, and Turibús, as some usual turns towards Gran Vía, Padre Esplá, or López de Osaba will not be possible. Line 02, heading to Sagrada Familia, will circulate from Teatro via Rambla, Jaime II, Vázquez de Mella, Doctor Mas Magro, Celia Valls, and from there will resume its usual route. Towards La Florida, from Doctor Sapena it will continue via Vázquez de Mella, Jaime II, Alfonso el Sabio Avenue, and the usual route.
The Santa Faz celebration will also involve an extensive special traffic operation. On Thursday, between 4:00 AM and midnight, detours and restrictions will be activated due to the closure of the pilgrimage route on Dénia Avenue to traffic. The cuts will affect points such as Vázquez de Mella, Gran Vía, and Vía Parque, with detours along the coastal front towards the beaches via Villajoyosa Avenue and towards the A-70. Access 10 of the A-70 in Vistahermosa will also be closed, both for entry and exit.
Among the main measures planned is the total closure of Dénia Avenue between the La Goteta interchange and the Sant Joan d'Alacant intersection, where only authorized vehicles will be allowed to circulate. Traffic bound for Valencia will be diverted via Juan Bautista Lafora, Jovellanos, Villajoyosa-Condomina Avenue, Costa Blanca, Irlanda, Nice Avenue, and the coastal road, in addition to the A-70. With this setup, Alicante reinforces public transport and reorganizes mobility to facilitate travel during one of the busiest days of the year in the city.
