The first intervention is scheduled for next Monday, with the voluntary appearance of the president of the Alicante Chamber of Commerce and Facpyme, at their own request.
During the session, the political groups voted on the various proposals for attendees, and finally, the one put forward by the Popular Group was approved with the support of Compromís and Vox. The commission's president and spokesperson for the PP, argued that the first to appear should be the mayors of the city councils that contracted with Facpyme for the management of the trade voucher.
“"The objective of this commission is to prevent the good name of this institution from being tarnished."
It was noted that nearly twenty local councils opted for this service. Therefore, the Popular Party requested, with the backing of the opposition groups except for the Socialist Group, that the mayor of Elda appear first.
The first vice-president of the Provincial Council also questioned the Socialist Group's request for the mayor of Alicante to appear, considering that the Alicante City Council never managed the trade voucher with Facpyme. Furthermore, she accused the Socialist Group of wanting to "make noise" in a pre-election context.
The popular deputy reiterated the Provincial Council's actions in this program, stating that the institution merely launched an initiative that, she highlighted, contributed to boosting the economy during a complicated period. The aid was granted to city councils in accordance with rules approved by all political groups, and it was the councils themselves that autonomously decided how to manage the program, with corresponding oversight.
