The Alicante Provincial Council has announced an investment of over 650,000 euros to support the training and preparation of more than 1,300 athletes in the province, covering travel expenses and participation in competitions.
This year, the Alicante Provincial Council will allocate over 650,000 euros to assist athletes in the province with the expenses required for their training and preparation. These grants are structured through two main calls, benefiting a large number of professionals across various disciplines.
The sports modalities practiced by the recipients of these aids include basketball, handball, volleyball, cycling, judo, taekwondo, rowing, sailing, swimming, tennis, badminton, Valencian pilota, golf, athletics, gymnastics, water polo, football, artistic roller skating, Olympic shooting, and adapted sports, among many others.
“
"Many Alicante sports professionals find in these subsidy programs the support they need to continue training and competing."
On one hand, the institution will distribute 400,000 euros among 995 elite athletes in the province. This plan aims to highlight the great work they do throughout the season and the projection they give to our land.
On the other hand, the Provincial Council will grant 185 aids to cover the travel expenses of Alicante athletes to High Performance Centers or Technification Centers. Additionally, 168 aids will be awarded to cover their participation in official international competitions, totaling 250,687 euros in subsidies for these categories.
Furthermore, it has been reminded that the deadline for submitting candidacies for the Provincial Sports Awards is open until May 5. These awards, endowed with 36,400 euros, seek to recognize the effort, work, and merits of coaches, clubs, and athletes in the territory.

"These awards reflect the commitment, dedication, and passion that our athletes and coaches demonstrate every day, in every training session and every competition. We reaffirm the absolute commitment of the Alicante Provincial Council to local sports."
