The Pedralba bridge, which was destroyed by the DANA storm on October 29, 2024, has reopened to traffic after a three-million-euro investment by the Generalitat, enhancing its resilience and hydraulic capacity.

The town of Pedralba has seen its bridge, located between the Cuchillas ravine and the Túria river, reopen a year and a half after being completely destroyed by the flood on October 29, 2024. The extent of the damage required a total reconstruction, with a length five times greater than the original, now reaching 45 meters, to adapt to the new conditions of the stream bed.
The Generalitat has reported that the reconstruction of this infrastructure has involved an investment of three million euros in the municipality, significantly increasing its resilience and hydraulic capacity. The intervention, carried out by the General Directorate of Terrestrial Infrastructures, has improved the safety and capacity of the crossing that connects both banks of the ravine, strengthening local connectivity and preparedness for extreme weather events.

"93.3% of the local works undertaken by the Generalitat after the 29-O floods are now completed."

Vicente Martínez Mus · Third Vice President and Minister of Environment, Infrastructures, Territory and Recovery
The third vice president and minister of Environment, Infrastructures, Territory and Recovery, Vicente Martínez Mus, visited Pedralba for the bridge's reopening. He highlighted that the Generalitat has allocated over 50 million euros to the rehabilitation of 60 infrastructures in thirty affected municipalities, with 56 already completed in 28 towns, and only four remaining.
Residents of Pedralba recall the image of an overflowing ravine with water flowing at high speed, engulfing everything in its path. On the day of the DANA, more than 411 liters of rain were recorded in the locality, to which was added water from upstream precipitation.
